New Special Edition Challenger
Modified By SERIES 5 on 2/21/2010 7:33:02 PM)

Well here's one for the girls or that special kind of guy , enjoy.

Furious Fuchsia Challenger

Dodge is once again releasing a new special edition versions of its Challenger with another signature paint color. This time it's Furious Fuchsia and as girly as it might be, the Challenger still manages to look like a man's machine. The car was officially shown for the first time today at the Chicago Auto Show and we're pleased to report that in person its definitely not pink.

While it may be feminine, what's under the hood most certainly isn't with no V6 being offered. Instead, Dodge will offer the Furious Fuchsia Challenger as an R/T Classic and as an SRT8 model. R/T models get matte-black or bright white side stripe package, "Challenger fender badges", 20-inch wheels, a body colored rear spoiler, function hood scoop and racing style fuel door. Inside, there's the option of Pearl White seats with Dark Slate Gray and Furious Fuchsia stitching. Those who opt for a six-speed manual transmission will also get the Track Pak with a 3.92 differential, dual-exhaust system, and a pistol-grip shifter to help get all 376-hp to the ground.

Better yet, ensure exclusivity with just one of 400 SRT8 models with 425-hp. It gets much of the same items but includes the Pearl White seats as standard with a Furious Fuchsia stripe, 20-inch forged aluminum SRT wheels with Stain Black accents, chrome quad-exhaust tips and a limited edition dash plaque.

Pricing for the R/T is set at $35,140, while SRT8 models will run you $45,150.

The Furious Fuchsia is the latest "high-impact heritage" paint color that Dodge has released, with a Plum Purple model being shown at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.

Re: New Special Edition Challenger

I've owned 2 original Panther Pink cars (Challenger and Roadrunner) and they always drew a crowd at car shows, especially the ladies. I'd order one of these if i didn't just get my B5 R/T in November. Still might pick one up anyway.

Panther Pink Mopars are the rarest color in the fleet. The only places I've ever seen one is at Carlisle and once at a local show last year, and that one had a crowd around it. If I were rich I would have a whole garage full of different and special Challengers, Chargers, Magnums, 300s, Jeeps, and a few HEMI trucks too! I love all the Mopar Muscle Machines.

Some additional information just released for the furious Fuchsia Challenger.

The 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic and Challenger SRT8® Furious Fuchsia editions, with new Pearl White leather performance seats, are limited-edition Dodge Challengers. The list price for the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic in Furious Fuchsia Pearl Coat is $35,140, while the high-performance SRT8 model is $45,150 (both prices include $725 destination). Both Hemi-powered cars will be built starting in May 2010, with ordering opening at U.S. and possibly other Dodge dealerships in March 2010.

The Classic includes “vintage” Challenger fender badges, 20-inch aluminum wheels with all season radials, R/T badge, and other exterior features, with exclusive white seats accented with Dark Slate Gray and Furious Fuchsia French-seamed stitching as a factory-installed option. Gray leather performance seats and center console armrest with Furious Fuchsia accent stitching are standard. When paired with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic Furious Fuchsia edition includes the Track Pak with precision-shift “pistol-grip” shifter, anti-spin 3.92 differential and a performance-tuned dual exhaust with two low-restriction bottle resonators for maximum “throatiness.” And when it’s time to deliver, the Furious Fuchsia R/T Classic can accelerate from 0–60 mph in less than six seconds with its powerful 376 horsepower (280 kW) and 410 lb.-ft. of torque (556 N•m) 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine.

The 400 ultra-exclusive 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 versions delivers even more punch with a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine with engine block lacquered in original HEMI Orange paint—producing 425 horsepower (317 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. (569 N•m) of torque, performance-tuned ride and handling, benchmark braking and race-inspired interior with unique SRT-designed appointments. The limited-production Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Furious Fuchsia is based on the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 and features several standard equipment upgrades, including all-new Pearl White leather SRT performance seats with Furious Fuchsia accented stripe, unique 20-inch SRT forged-aluminum wheels with Satin Black accents, serialized dash plaque indicating the limited production series of 400 and retro-inspired chromed quad-exhaust tips.

Re: New Special Edition Challenger

I think I'd rather see a black car with pink stripes. Just my opinion.

Re: New Special Edition Challenger

Just my opinion but I think Dodge was told the Challenger is thought of as a manly car and they needed to do something to interest the girls. I have heard the car isn't as pink as shown in the pictures when you're looking at one in person, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
