ONE BRACKET RACE CLASS:
Modern MOPAR DRAGS Bracket Race.
- Full Bracket Style Trophy Class Race, basically a “run what you brung”, “anything goes” drag racing bracket class, run on a “dial-in” handicap basis.
Most events are on the ¼ mile and use a standard Sportsman Tree for starting the race. (3 yellows, then green)
Weather and track conditions could shorten race-track to 1/8 mile; per track discretion.
- Open Class – No structure/Dial in Times required, track dependant
ONE HEADS-UP CLASS: Quick “X”
This category will be HEADS-UP racing to be arranged and managed by E-Town. The Quick "X" Racers will be determined during the time trials made with all the racers and will be limited to only 8 cars (this could change on race day).
The 8 individuals that post the quickest time trial run (any of your 2 or 3 time trials) will be able to participate in this class and the Bracket Class. There will be no averaging of runs... The quickest qualifying run grants access to this class.
All racers for this category and Bracket Class will run time trials together, there will be no separation of race cars for this.
Points will be awarded for this category as referenced below, but since there is no tech card purchased for this class, the base 5 points will not be awarded.
The Quick "X" will run heads up using a .500 Pro Tree (2 stage lights, all yellow lights will FLASH same time, 1 Green).
These racers will be paired with an appropriate opponent with timing of the Quick "X" eliminations to be started based on the Quick “X” Racer’s progression during eliminations in the Bracket Class...in other words, it is possible that if you are still in the eliminations on Brackets and E-Town is ready to run the Quick "X" class you may have to jump in and run Quick "X".
TECHCARDS: Every driver must fill out an HHP Points Series tech card for each race in addition to Englishtown Raceway’s basic tech card and pass host track’s tech inspection. All tech cards must be completely filled out, or they will not be accepted. Additionally, the driver must sign the front of the tech card.
"Contingency" prizes will not be awarded to winner if HHP Tech Sheet is not filled out and handed in. Sponsors will be providing stickers I ask that everyone place the stickers on your car windows. Prizes will not be awarded if sticker is not on vehicle. It will be the registered drivers responsibility to get the stickers on the race vehicle.
POINTS PROGRAM: The points will run for the entire course of the year and racers will accumulate points at scheduled racing events. The racers with the greatest number of points at the end of the year are honored at the annual Frozen Balls & Bearings Shootout Dinner in November. Bracket race points registration are paid to the host track and will range from $25.00 to $40.00 based on event and date.
FOR ELIGIBLE VEHICLES
The points will always be awarded to the Driver/Racer (D/R) with the following rules.
1) D/R must use the same car (either registered to D/R or significant other) throughout the race season. In the event D/R sells primary car and replaces with another eligible car, a one time transfer of points will be allowed to continue the bond between D/C.
2) In the event D/R owns 2 eligible vehicles and chooses to swap cars during race season, points will be separated between the two cars run during the season. YOU SHOULD TRY and USE SEPARATE CAR NUMBERS WHEN RACING.
3) No substitute drivers: You must drive your own vehicle. Track rules state that the individual named/registered on the Track Tech Card must be the driver of the vehicle going down the track. We will follow the same rule. If a performance shop brings a race car they will be allowed to select one driver and that driver will earn the points. They will not be allowed to swap drivers during race day. Swapping of Drivers during race day earns immediate disqualification.
4) Some may ask … what if I want someone else to drive my car? Well then, points will be awarded to that driver on that day and not the D/R in the race series who has previously run that vehicle. No swapping of drivers once registered on race day… you will be disqualified.
POINT EARNINGS:
Completion of Tech Card = 5 Points (Quick X racers will not earn 5 points for tech card)
Single round win = 5 Points
Single round loss = 0 Points
1st Place Category Winner awarded 2 additional points (7 Points for final round Winner)
2nd Place Category Winner awarded 1 additional point (1 Point for Second Place Finish)
Points are awarded in the following fashion: Each time you purchase a tech card you are awarded five points. You must fill out the HHP Tech Card (race registration form) to receive these points. Every round Win during eliminations, you will be awarded five points. For example, if you purchase a tech card and win round one you have earned 10 points. If you are eliminated in the fourth round, you will have earned 20 points.
TIME TRIALS: Time trials will begin based on track schedule. Every effort will be made to provide a fair amount of time trials for each racer before elimination's. There is no guarantee on the number of time trials offered. Racers should allow themselves plenty of time to make at least one time trial at an event. Time trials will not be offered to any driver after eliminations unless he or she has purchased a time trial tech card from the pit gate(this has nothing to do with the series). Time trials for points racers will not be offered until after the completion of the second round of eliminations.
RUN ORDER: The standard order for time trials and eliminations is as follows:
MODERN MOPAR DRAGS Race series Bracket and Quick "X" time trials will be run together. Your time trials will be your qualifying time for Quick “X”.
This class run order may be altered to accommodate other groups at the track, weather conditions, and car count. Stay tuned to the track PA system to be aware of any changes. Race will consist of matched pairings determined by track officials at the line.
STAGING LANES: Once you are at the front of staging, you are required to be ready to race at that point. Ample time will be given to set delay boxes, tires, and such, but the driver must be in the car, strapped-in and wearing all safety equipment. You will be moved quickly to the racing area after you have been instructed to do so, Please be courteous to your fellow racers by being ready to race at the front of staging.
STAGING: All competitors will be given a reasonable amount of time to stage their race car. Drivers having difficulty staging will be given two chances to properly stage the race car. You are allowed one roll through. Should you roll through once the tree has been activated, you will receive the red light. The second time you stage, you will have to accept the tree, regardless of how you are staged. The competitor in the opposite lane has the option to back out and restage if their opponent has rolled through the light once.
DIAL-INS:Dial-in times must be posted on the vehicle before leaving the staging area. There may or not be a sign noting that dial in’s may not be changed past this point and reminding drivers to check their dial-ins before staging.
"It is the drivers responsibility to check the dial-in before staging the car."
All dial-in times must be posted on the tower side of the racing vehicle (driver’s side for E-town). Poorly written dial-in makes it very difficult to be entered into the computer and may not be accepted. It is the racers responsibility to make sure that their dial-in is legible. The only time a dial-in can be changed is in the event of downtime. Once you pre-stage, you have accepted the dial-in as posted on the boards. IT IS is the driver’s responsibility to check the dial-in before staging the race car. There will be no re-runs as a result of a wrong or missing dial-in.
*These rules are subject to track and time availability. Track officials may change dial in procedures at their discretion.
BYE RUNS: If there are an uneven number of cars in the elimination round, a bye run will be given by default to the racer with the best qualifying run, or best previous round reaction time as determined by officiating track employees. In this circumstance, the single racer moves forward to the next round with round points won. If there is an even number of competitors, the person with the best reaction time will not receive a bye run and the bye run is not cumulative. A driver may pass on his bye and then the bye will go to the next best reaction time. Once a driver has taken a bye run, he will no longer be eligible for a bye in other rounds, unless all the remaining competitors have also taken a bye run.
RE-RUNS: From time to time, problems may occur that require a pair or pairs of competitors to have to be re-run in eliminations. It is the sole discretion of the Englishtown Raceway officials to engage in re-runs. It will be the policy to re-run pairs in the event of computer malfunction or other uncontrollable circumstances whenever possible. Each situation is different, and will be dealt with in the most fair and expeditious manner. At times a clear winner can be determined without the need for a re-run. Be aware that the practice of re-runs will be kept to a minimum. When the need arises, every effort will be made to accommodate the racers involved to allow them to cool down and rejoin the rest of the field in competition. Failure to agree to re-run will result in loss of round and round points.

Englishtown Raceway officials and empowered employees retain final decision on vehicle eligibility. All Englishtown Raceway track rules must be strictly adhered to. Drivers may or may not receive warnings on infractions. Vehicles must go through track inspection in final race setup.
RAIN-OUT POLICY AND PROCEDURE:It will always be the goal of HHP to conduct race events according to schedule. However, rain and other inclement weather can play a drastic role in the production of an event. Should there be a substantial chance that an event will never get started due to rain or inclement weather, we will make every effort to inform the public that we will not be racing. Pay attention to track announcements, website and phone messages for the most up to date information.
If rain or inclement weather begins after the gates open, we will not cancel an event until there is no time in the day left to dry the track, provide for one time trial run and complete elimination's at a reasonable hour. Should rain halt an event after elimination's begin, each driver in attendance that day will be given the points. However points will only be awarded for completed rounds of elimination. If the round is incomplete, no cars/ drivers will receive points for that round. For example, if there are 14 pairs in round three, and only 13 pairs run, and the last pair is barred from running because of rainout, no cars will receive points for that round. Only if all pairs/cars are run for that round will points be awarded.
HHP reserves the right in the event of rainout to either call the race and/or re-run the entire race at a future date. The other alternative that may be exercised is to call the race complete, and split any purse, if offered, among the remaining competitors in the class. If this second alternative is chosen, then the racers eligible to share in the purse will be determined by looking at the last fully completed round. Everything possible will be done to complete the round. If however round six has been completed, and three pairs have been run in round seven all cars that have advanced to round seven will be eligible to participate in the purse.
Rainout will also be called if other circumstances exist that bar the running of the race ; i.e. computer failure, generator failure, etc.
REFUNDS AND BREAK RULES: There are no cash refunds for breakage of one’s car. The host track or High Horse Performance, Inc. or any race sponsors are not responsible for any damages to a racer’s vehicle or injuries to his/herself by participation in our events.
